03 TLS vs. Camero?
Not sure if it was a Camero or Firebird. How does the TL fair with this car. I tailed him to see if he wanted to play and sure enough he did. he floored it and raped me. I eventually caught up to him and try to make a pass to the right as he was blocked by a car in front, saw me coming fast on the right but raped me again as he cut to the right in front of me and made the pass. I gave up then b/c of how bumpythe parkway was and construction, and usually a state pig lasering.........but could the TL take the camero on a flat straight?!?!?!

If you're talking the newer Camaros/Firebirds... The V6 ones should be easily beaten with the TLS. Z28 or SS has a V8 and enough HP/torque to embarrass a TLS (stock vs. stock). With a manual transmission, you're talking mid to high 13s in the 1/4 for the Z28 (mid to low 13s for the SS). The TLS is good for mid to high 14s in the 1/4.

A V-8 Z28 or SS will smoke ya. They may have mullets, but they should not be trifled with...

Hahaha. Who races with a TL anyways. It's gay. Camaro is a sports car. TL falls more into the Luxury. Camaro will definately win without a doubt. If you wanted to fair so bad with the sports cars you should've gotten an IS300. With the Twin Turbo Supra Engine it can Take the SS Camaro to school like a fool.

Doesn't the is300 have the all motor supra engine? Its gonna take some money to get that thing to fly like a supra. A BPU supra is one hell of a beast, but not unbeatable. Guys spray 150 shots into ls1 engines all the time, and with a halfway decent tune the car will run fine. That would put a camaro up there with a bpu supra.
That being said, I think the supra is the most bad ass japanese sports car ever made. Yes, I even consider it better than the skyline. I like the way it looks, I like the bulletproofness of its 2jz-gte motor, and I like that it is rwd. If japan could build another car like this, I would buy. Only other japanese sports car I really like the looks of are the 3000gt vr4, just wish it wasn't so damn heavy (not that the supra is that light either.)

A friend of the family has a LS1 black/yellow/black conv. Firebird tuned by SLP that I've seen eat ZO6's at the track. All for much less then what the ZO6 cost. Those LS1 engine's are ridiculously tunable. Just outta curiosity, has anyone seen the Lingenfelter 427tt Corvette? If i remember corectly, 1/4 in under 10 secs.

About the TL comment. Acurapride, you are gonna find a cold reception if you go mocking TL owners on here. Aren't the new ones like 270 hp or something. Sounds pretty race worthy to me. Easily faster than the majority of the stuff on the road.

With heads/cam, headers, exhaust, you're looking at probably 450-500 at the wheels. Best of all, parts are relatively cheap. No mullet jokes. That's for the 3rd generation, and even a small percentage of owners at that. A brand new WS6 in 2002 cost 31,000 dollars and change, nearly the same as a TL-S. I don't know of many mullet-growing trailer trash that can afford a 30,000+ dollar car, not to mention insurance.Head on over to LS1.com for more info. Some of those guys are running sick times, and their cars are beasts. I almost got an '02 WS6 6-speed in summer of 2001, but I f*cked it all up. But that's another story. I'm getting one soon, hopefully, as a weekend car that I can modify to hell and back. And yes, these guys are right. Don't mess with LS1. If you see a Z28/SS/Trans Am/WS6 badge, then don't bother because you will get schooled. Firebird and Camaro (3.8L V6, 200 hp) is no slouch, either.

A type-S TL with an intake and some exaust will have as much HP as the NSX, just not in a race-ready body. It is quite capeable though. It would be no contest with an LT1 though, even the NSX would have a hard time with it in the 1/4.
