CRazy Race against an EVo!!!

I am not really an enthusiast of the 1999 Acura Tl, but after yesterday I liked it a lot. I live in Queens, and was coming back from Brooklyn. As I was driving on BQE I was coming up to a turn where the recommended speed is 45 but going 60 is pretty normal without tire screeching. I was doing about 110 and I started to abruptly to slow down, at this time I look in my side mirror and I see bright lights right on my tail. At first I was stupid drunk is about to hit me. But the guy slowly passes me by smiling in a Blue Evolution, ground effects exhaust, hissing noice from the gears and starts to pull away, as he switched gears he had fire out of his exhaust come out, I was trying to follow him on the turn but he was doing about 90 and no way for me to catch up. Right after the turn he was about half a mile away from me already, and I see he was braking. I thought that he was waiting for me but as I was about to catch up to him my radar goes off, me doing 120 in a 45 . I slam on the brakes and brake with the engine and barely pass under 60 in front of a cop. The Evo was doing 45 as we were approaching construction. After the construction we had pretty much an open road ahead of us, meaning no place for cops to stand. So I slow down and want him to pass me but he refuses and flashes his lights at me. Me excited about seeing such a beatifull car and wanting to see what it could do. I went! Sped up to about 120 and massive road traffic ahead of us. Evo was right on my ass crack without letting go of more then 2 feet, (NOT OVEREXHtirating) We hit traffic doing about 120 where cars are doing 60, we go between cars, my tires are screeching for their lifes, but front wheel drive helps keep control of my car. Evo loses me for about 2 seconds, and then out of nowhere comes back to my asscrack. My opinion was nice shit dude. We passed a group of cars and had an open road. He tried to pass me but I just wouldnt let him, as vtec really kicks in at high speed. Also i really like to abuse my car so I broke my red line, On a stock 99 tl 3.2 its 8500rpm. So I could do 130 in 3rd gear. Sounds nice uh. He failed to pass me, up until a straightaway. He lined up next to me told me good job and left doing about 150 and getting the next exit. I was trembling for the next half an hour as that was the best race I ever saw.

I just hope you weren't putting others people's lives at risk.

Other than that, the hissing noise from the turbo, not the gears, and he shot out flames because has no cat.

Pretty much all of the guys in my car club shoot fireballs, and it's pretty cool to see blue flames underneath their car at night.

actually, now that I think of it, this should probably be removed, since we do not condone street racing... but I'll just move it to the "track" forum... since, I'm sure that there are a lot of people that would have something to say about your lofty claims....

...whooooosh.

Hint:

Leave out speeds. Leave out the part where you could "hang" with him. Keep it to your respect for the EVO and its beauty.

Then it's not a racing story and won't get locked / deleted.

I have a 99 TL. No way it can keep up with the Evo unless you are just blocking the lane. 3rd gear 130??? 8500RPM??? Our car redlines 6500RPM. It's probably your typo. And yes 3rd gear does redline about 120mph though. But if you are doing that you are putting your engine in serious pressure. If you go 8500RPM, your engine will blow, I guarantee it. Well, before I criticize about this. YOu might have serious mods. You might of live in Canada and they use km there. So I could be wrong. List your mods

I didn't know the 99TL's let you bring it past redline. Isn't there a fuel cut at redline? Am I the only one? =/

Dude is full of it.

1) The EVO would smoke you.

2) No way you weaave thru traffic at 120. FWD doesn't help at that point, in fact it would be a hindrance as you'd probably understeer off the road.

3) And yes, there is a fuel cutoff somewhere just past redline to protect the motor. Unless yoi've done some $$$ mods, you'd never get this motor to spin to 8,500.

Oh well, he probably had time to waste while he watched over the fry machine...
