Good news, Bad news ...lost to a FX-35
The bad news I lost to a Fx-35. The good news ....guess what my other car is?
I was in my Acura 3.2 TL yesterday in heavy rain at a traffic light. Guess what pulls up along side of me? It was a black Fx-35 with a bike rack and black tinted driver and passenger windows in NJ. Looked incredibly mean. Since, I am already a new proud owner of a 2004 FX-35 which is still being broken in I wanted to see what this 2003 FX could do. He started to rev his exhaust and I knew the race was on. Due to heavy rain, I was expecting traction problems. As predicted, I spun the tires on the launch in 1st and 2nd gears using triptronic. The Fx just launched no problem and took the lead and kept the lead and than just pulled away slowly. My TL is fast but its not the type S. We got the red light again and this time I kept the TCS on in my car and launced from 2nd gear as not to spin the tires. Second time around we had a equal launch and at around 30mph he started to gain about a car length which I kept him too. Very impressed with the FX. Still waiting to really drive my FX this way. Only 700 miles left till I finish my breakin. Would like to see how it would all play out in normal dry weather.

the 45 obviously has more power, worse gas mileage and about a 1 second advantage from 0-60mph
However, I drove both cars back to back and the FX-35 felt a little quicker through the turns because it was lighter. The FX-35 also has the exact same engine as in the nissan Z and G35 coupe. Therefore, a lot more mods available for this car in terms of intake, exhaust, etc. The main factor was the 7k price difference between the two. Could not justify the extra money. It wasnt worth it IMHO.
