run in with mustang - Acura Forum

i had a little run in with a mustang this weekend of course legally the kid was running his mouth about how bad he was going to beat me and stuff so we lined them up and he didnt win. i was wonderin why this mustang didnt spank me and if us tl owners have a chance he wasnt they best driver either. any tips to make my car faster out of the hole or any tricks to make it faster

was it an auto??? the newer (not brand new but the gen b4 that) the V8 with a auto only had times around 0-60 in 6 seconds which is only a few ticks better that our type-S so perhaps a bad driver could have made the diff.....if you really spanked him then it was probably a V6 or at best a V8 with a horrible shifting driver....

He must not be a very good driver.

The new Mustang should crush you even with a bad driver, but the previous gen Mustang GT is a different story. The magazines have that year GT ( stick ) and the TLS pretty close at 0-60. That's with professional drivers. If the kid doesn't know how/when to shift, he won't get as good a time as the magazines.

yea those are the ones with pretty poor 0-60/quarter mile times. on a lil side note if u brag ur win to other random people i would explain that it was probably not a great driver and not proclaim urself as a mustang crusher or u'll probably be flamed hardcore
