TL-S vs GS-R
A friend of mine has a '97 GS-R with exhaust and rims/tires.
Last night, I was reading for class stuff, and I got sick and tired. I decided to go for a drive, pick up some food. I was pulling into QD, which is kind of like a small-scale Meijer, when I heard a loud exhaust. I looked in my rear view mirror, and sure enough, it's Chris' white GS-R. I kept going straight, moved over one lane, and he got next to me. We talked for a second, then he punched it. We were going like 20-30 at this time. I wasn't ready, so I grabbed SportShift and downshifted to 2nd. Then I went WOT. Computer kicked it down to 1st, and I was off. By now, he had a good car length of head start on me. Bastard. But it got ugly real quick. I reeled him in like there was no tomorrow, and by the time I hit 3rd, it was very ugly. I slowed down, and he pulled up again, shaking his head in disgust. Andrew was riding shotgun, and he was laughing hysterically. We hung a U-ey, and came to a red light. It was on. I brake-torqued to 2,000 RPM and raised hell as the light changed to green. A little bit of wheelspin and I was off like a bat out of hell. I looked to my left, and I saw his front tires spinning. He's got Yokohama AVS ES100's, but he still spun for a couple of seconds. By the end of 2nd, I had put BUS LENGTHS on him. It was over from the get-go due to the crappy launch. Of course, it made my night. I was real happy that I could lay the smack down on a mildly modified GS-R. And he's a pretty decent driver, too. He's getting a turbo kit this winter, and I'm getting power mods (about time) so it's going to be interesting in the spring, once the track opens up. I'm getting headers, an electric cut-out, and nitrous. AEM CAI is on its way (Thanks, Scott). ![]()

Nice kill. But once the turbo kit is in. You will be in for some serious race. Because of the Horsepower to weigh ratio. You better have some serious shots of Nitrious in your car. Because I don't think they even made any turbo kit for the TL.

I'll be running 55-shot on the streets and 75 at the track.
I'll be running about 350+ at the crank. 2700 lbs/180 hp = 15 lb/hp <-- GS-R 3500 lbs/260 hp = 13.46 lb/hp <-- TL-S After the turbo kit, he would be running about 230 hp?? 2700 lbs/230 hp = 11.7 lb/hp 3500 lbs/350 hp = 10 lb/hp I still win. ![]()
