Went to the dragstrip after I installed the headers...

I wanted to see how I would do with the headers on, so I headed out to the dragstrip with a few of my friends and their cars.

I did 23 runs in about an hour (my car, 2 of my friends, and 2 other random cars at the track), back-to-back. It was awesome, just having the track to ourselves.

Anyway, the first 3 to 4 runs really pissed me off because I was running low 15's. Then I got myself in gear (no pun intended ) and remembered how I did it before. Also, the fact that it was drizzling didn't help with traction.

I started getting 14.7 and 14.8 runs, then the best run of the night came up. I launched decent, with a little bit of wheelspin, nailed every shift and went on to run a 14.5 at 96 mph.

I was decently happy with that time, but my 60' time was 2.280 on that run. If I could bring it down to about 2.1 with better tires, then I could hit 14.3. So yeah, I'm most likely getting some Ecsta MX tires now.

I'm also planning on getting a test pipe with a cut-out built in, and that'll help me reduce wheelspin and help me in the top-end, which will be a win-win situation. I think I could hit 14.1 then.

From there, anything goes. We'll see.

By the way, that run was done with full interior. Nothing was tampered with, except for the front tire pressure, which I lowered to 26 psi from 32 psi. So yeah, I'm pretty happy.

For comparison, I ran a 15.2@90 with a K&N. Then I ran a 15.0@93 with AEM CAI. So headers alone helped me knock half a second off the quarter.

Surprise -- it's OBX headers.

I tried leaving it in D3 and I was getting low 15, high 14 runs. Then I gate-shifted and started cutting 14.7 runs. My best run was done with gate-shifting.

I let one of my friends run the car and he used the SS, and ran a 14.9. So yeah, gate-shifting is definitely the best way to go.
