Exclamation 2004 tl subwoofer mods

im planning on gettin 2 10" type x subs for my car which is a 2004 acura tl? any1 have any suggestions? i heard the stock system is built for the car and if you change the subs it wont sound as good and stuff.... is that true?

you have the non navi or wut? if you got the navi id go for backup cam or dvd switch, the stock sound is already pretty good as is imo man

if your car has a sub in it, you can split the sub wire to run to your amp then to the sub your going to put it, then JL audio sells a thing that turns up the sub volume, its just alittle knob that is meant for stock car decks

Like Greco says you can grab the signal from the existing sub, use a LOC (line out converter) which can be purchased from any chain electronics store (Best Buy, Circuit City, stereo shop etc....), tapping the signal from this point will allow you to control the sub from the head unit (same as the factory sub). In both my 06 and my 07 Type-S I disconnected the factory sub as it sounded better without using it. The stock ELS system has a great clean sound but I think it lacks ultimate volume and deep/low bass, adding a new sub will definately help pick up where the factory left off.
