Can you crack the Nav to play Videos?

Has anyone been able to play DVD video in their stock Nav unit?

Yes, there are kits out there. If you do a search on this site you should find a few posts that talk about it.

I've been looking on the site but must not be using the correct search terms. Can anyone point me in the right direction to play DVDs on the navigation system? My wife has a 08 TL Type S. Thanks,

Ron

the stock navi cannot play dvd's but you can use a converter to get a video input to connect as dvd ,tv tuner to the stock navi screen, one part is the RGB 1 from pioneer or the GEX-P7000tv both are no longer made basically you need a composite to RGB converter for the video and a RF modulator or a Aux in adapter for the audio.

I just got the converter. Not installed yet but I've seen it work. Try these:

G-NET Car PC - Vehicle Mounted Computers - Nav TV Video OEM Nav Input - iPod Car Adapters - Industrial Computer Monitors LCD
Mobile video mobile tv mobile video system mobile satellite tv mobile video systems nav tv car tv dvd car video car dvd car tv car video system car satellite tv video interface car navigation system car video navigation car navigation gps car tv scre

Theres one on ebay too. Search "nav to video converter"

I also popped 2 NESA 7" screens in the headrest. Should be a nice little dvd system for my 07 TLs

Ok I installed the nav converter. works great. (navandtvtogo.com) Installed a Farenheit DVD-45 player under the drivers side dash. I piped the audio out of the dvd player into the aux input in the center console. It's awesome having video on the nav screen. Plus I installed 2 7" NESA screens in the headrests. It's BOSS kids! Hit me up if you got questions.
