Tell me about it...my biggest problem was the trunk lid...afterwards when i hit the trunk release button it only pops up enough to unlatch.
only problem now is to figure out how i can get ride of the rattle on the shelf behind the back seat. |

sure can.
First thing is first you got to buy enough dynamat to work for your car. In my case i went with the Dynamat Trunk Kit (20 square ft.) Ranging from $120-$130. For my project i was not going to be doing the whole trunk, just problem areas/rattles in my trunk. 1)Take everything out of your trunk first, trust me youre gonna need the room to move around. 2)Remove the liners out of your trunk, be sure to get a baggie or tuperware with a lid to keep track of all the plastic rivits and what not. 3)Once lining is removed from the trunk, you must clean the contact spots on which you plan putting dynamat. I opted to use straight up rubbing alcohol and paper towels. The metal should not have much in the way of dirt/dust on it, just be sure to clean the whole area very well in which you are planning on applying dynamat you dont want to have your work falling off after you finish. 4)With some sort of flat cardboard cut a outline of the area that you want to apply the dynamat. This isnt so much for large areas but more for the small areas in between supports and what not. be sure to work in the dynamat with your fingers to make contact with all of the contact area. Once you have the small areas filled in you can cover those with a larger peice of dynamat. :::I realise now that i should have taken pictures when i put mine in, but no one really seemed interested before i installed it.::: 5)Once you have the dynamat where you want it replace the trunk lining, replace all hardware, hook your sub/amp back up and you are good to go. If you have any questions...just ask. |
