wow rofl thats funny... do the rpm's go DOWN when the bass goes UP? In that case its because its draining your power that the alternator/battery cannot supply, theres somthing you can buy relativly cheap for it, i cant remember the name but its basicly a small battery that buffers the power.
if its the other way around.. i have no idea.

Basically your battery and woofer have an inverse relationship.
Buy a capacitor and your problems are solved. *edit* it's the same thing that happends when your turn your lights on and off. It steals a little bit power from the engine. If you continue to run your system w/o a capacitor then it forces your battery/alternator to work more and consequently fail. |

True. What size power wire are you using? Do you have any additional grounding wires from the battery or just the stock ones?
The capacitor will definitely help, but you should invest in some decent car audio wire (NOT WALMART) and upgrade your power+ground under the hood. The cruddy stock stuff will lead to bottlenecking. In my old hyundai (ftw!) I had a decent system and after I redid all my power+grounds and added more grounds under the hood, the tach no longer dipped and my headlights didn't dim noticibly. All with a stock replacement autozone battery and NO cap. My car now will bob a bit on the tach with I'm bumping (much more juice drawn) but not that bad since I have a ton of Rockford 4 gauge or 8 gauge for everything everywhere - but I'll be putting in a capacitor this weekend, so long as I am motivated. Maybe I'll do some pics of the install ![]()

Like ive said before, its hard for our little 4 banger cars to power anything, and if you leave your subs on for even a few mins with the car off, you wont be able to start again.

capacitor owns.
and then after 2 years of thumping bass, you'll get sick of it and pull it out... ever figure out you gas mileage dilemma? i'd take care of getting that fixed before investing in sounds system equip.

Yes I would listen to Joker and invest in some high quality cables. They make all the difference in the world. That is not normal and should not be happening to you. I've had shitty installs (from myself and friends) and top notch installs (from my audio shop) and if its done right your subs shouldn't affect anything (rpms, lights, etc.) even on a stock battery w/o a capacitor. Check every connection, clean your battery connection, make sure every ground is solid and clean, and use good cables, specially your battery cable. Get something thick an able to carry all that load.

the gas issue will be taken care of first trust me
I got an appointment on tuesday and I hope and pray that they can narrow it down and fix it its freaking getting freaking LAME now! I kinda think I noticed that when I take the car on the highway and gas it up to 80 or so for about 5 mins I can litteraly see the needle go down 1 notch just from that anyway, When i put my bassboost up to 9 and the bass level to about 10 the rpm needle bumps to the bass So for now I just put bass boost to 5 I think and the level down a little bit I cant wait to get the cap on so I can take full advantage of the amp and sub, it really is a kick ass set and I suggest it for anyone who has a hatchback the 1 12 inch l5 kicks out more better bass than 2 of the normal 12's plus less room taken up = ownage |

![]() when i used to ravel a lot, 80 mph, is not a fuel efficent speed, in fact, anyone with a teg that takes it up to 80 mph, after 5 mins, is def going to notice that the needle moved a notch. ![]()
