Oxygen Sensor Replacement

Can anyone give me advice on replacing the right side oxygen sensor on a '97 RL? Specifically, can it be done by an amateur mechanic is a relatively short period of time? If so, where do I begin?

I'm not sure what mileage you have, but I had mine replaced under the extended emissions warranty. You may want to check that out if you're under 150K.

First you will need the correct tool (o2 sensor socket), that you rent or purchase at autozone or whatever autostore in your area. Then it is somewhat easy from there.

My RL has 180K miles on it and still no problems reported with the O2 sensors. Will my gas mileage increase if I replace them anyway? How much can I expect?
