Post Tire Recommendation

Hi RL Owners,
Does any one have a recommendation to what tires I should purchase for my '02 RL? I would like a tire that wears well & will allow the car to handle a little better.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Jim

Hi WaterPolo820,
Yes. They are the standard 16" Rims & original tires.
I was thinking of NITTO tires.
Ahy thoughts?

my 99 RL (which is the same as yours 02 RL) did well on Conti SportContact 2. the grip in wet and dry conditions was great and wear off almost not exisiting. i did 22.000 miles on them during summer 2007 and wear off was only 1mm on front and rear.

i had also Dunlop SP9000. they were also great, but the wear off was much higher, almost twice as the Contis.

I liked the Bridgstone Turanza's I put on. The michelins were terrible. Ran very hard; you could feel every little bump. I ran snow tires on an extra set of factory rims; the car did very well in the snow

I have a '02 RL and just put on Bridgestone Serenitys. $615 out the door from Firestone. Also got a $75 cash back card. (promo already expired). Fantastic touring tire. It's very quiet and handles quite well providing better steering response than I expected. Better even than the Bridgestone Turanzas that I have on my '03 CLs. I also have the Yokohama AVID H4S on my Mazda and they are quiet but don't have the best steering response. Check the Tirerack for good online prices. Your local Firestone dealer should match any price you can find.

Goodyear Assurance TripleTred

I love my Goodyear TripleTred's. Quiet, comfortable and almost zero hydroplaning. If I remember correctly, they are supposed to be 70k mile tires. I've had them for aprox 20k.

I don't own a RL, but I had the Nitto 450 on my Acura integra for a few months, when it started to rain, the tires start to spin off, and it felt unsafe to drive on wet roads, they were on ok dry road.

Your better off with the Falken ZE-912, you could read reviews at Tire Rack - Your performance experts for tires and wheels
