Tire selection

What's up everyone?

I'm hoping to get some advice on tire selection for a 2000 RL. I'm considering mounting a set of 18X7.5 +42 offset wheels on my RL. I know the majority of application guides say a +42 to +50 offset will work.

Just wanted to know if this is an acceptable setup and if anyone has experienced any problems with this setup in the past.

Thanks in Advance

maybe I didn't provide enough information in my question. The tires I'm considering are 225/45/18.

I also have 18X7.5 +42 offset wheels on my 97 RL. Currently I'm also having 225/45/18 tires. The front tires slightly rub the fender when hit big humper. So I just pull the front fender out by hands with loosening splash guard (the same effect with fender rolling) and then there's no rubbing. Rear fender rubs tire more significantly. I cut the fender lips all the way and pull the fender out and now I have more than 1 cm more room between tire and rear fender. I think 99+ RLs have redesigned front and rear fenders and they have no rubbing problem with your setup.

Now I'm buying 245/45/18 tires for front and rear for the same rims. We will see.........
