2010 Acura NSX 600-hp, weighs less than the Nissan GT-R

2010 Acura NSX 600-hp, weighs less than the Nissan GT-R

While everyone thinks that Acura is not up-to-par in the luxury or performance game, the upcoming next-generation NSX will change all that for the Honda owned brand. According to AutoExpress, along with the Nissan GT-R and the Lexus LF-A, the 2010 Acura NSX will take on the Aston Martin V8 Vantage, Maserati GranTurismo and the Jaguar XKR.

So far we’ve heard rumors that the 5.5L V10 powering the next-generation NSX will produce 500-hp. According to a new report the 5.5L V10 is expected to produce 600-hp with a peak torque of 443 lb-ft. It will be mated to a rear-wheel-drive architecture and a 6-speed dual-clutch gearbox.

For everyone that judges a performance car based on Nurburgring lap times, the 2010 Acura NSX prototype has lapped the famous German track at a record time of 7:37.

AutoExpress also says that the next NSX will weigh 1,500kg - 250kg less than the Nissan GT-R. Pricing is expected to be £100,000 ($283,000).

I saw the last line. stop jumping to assumptions so quickly.

now for the price...
...to go down, to pown the NSX's sales, to take away its hope of beating the GTR, etc.

assuming > you.

plus thats euros to dollars, when it cud be yen to dollars. look at the E92 M3 for example, its barely any less in euros than dollars.

Basic exchange rates:

One British (UK) Pound = $2 USD

One Euro (€) = $1.58 USD

The 100,000 was in UK Pounds.

Do the math young one.

This car is not intended to really compete with the GTR ($70,000 US). It is intended to compete with the European supercar market.

I know that mr. teacher. I'm saying that it goes from yen to the currency in the country no?

and so what if its not designed to compete with the GTR? if its a second difference in the lap times of the 2 cars then shudn't it be in comparison? Nissan is FTW.

Sorry, but you can't compute prices this way. You have to realize that in Europe, even Accords cost 20-some thousand pounds. That doesn't mean they cost 40k USD.

The NSX will likely end up costing ~150,000 USD. Certainly not over 200k.

Thanks, Andrew.

I have read varying estimates from 125,000 to just under 200,000. I would guess in the ~150 range myself.

Like Sven said, let's all go buy two of them!

You're no NSX or Acura Sports Coupe or whatever they will badge it.

Plus, I am pretty damn sure you would not like to be driven like that!!!

LOVE LOVE LOVE the specs.

Hate the looks and the price. The old NSX is a much better looking car.
