Potential SC owner

Well, I having been scavenging around for some SC300 because they got four factors I am looking for: RWD, manual gearbox, inline six, and reliablity. I have seen some incredible stuff done to the 2jz motors but have no background on them. If you're reading this, Integra guy, don't you own a supra? How well do they hold up?

They hold up pretty well, my bro had a 91 SC400 before he sold it, the engine ran great, since it is a luxury car it feels slow, but is not.

My mechanic told me the N/A supra has less problems then the turbo, but I haven't had any problems, btw my bro put over 200,000 miles on his SC400, and it never had to see a mechanic for any repairs.

The 1uzfe engines are definitely reliable, I already have 230,000 on mine and it's still running strong. The only problem with the SC400 is that they only come in auto, although I have heard people saying that a supra 5 speed tranny would work but not so sure about it.

SC300's with manuals are also wicked hard to find...at least in New England and down south. Both times I've been looking for cars, I looked for a standard SC300, but I never could find one. Shoot, around here they're hard to find, period.

^^ on that. In my area, there are only about 16 of them (on CL) and 3/4 of them are auto. The only one that has a manual and in fair condition right now is this one: http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sby/car/553932494.html. I'm in no rush though, I will just wait till I find one that pleases me.

That's actually a decent looking ride, assuming that dash kit won't cost too much.

Except that the picture posted isn't the actual car - just a similar car, as posted in the details.

A great thing about Cali - no (or very little) road salt to eat the car out from under you.

I was out there a couple of years ago and saw an `84 Supra that was the twin to the one I had - except that it had no body rot! Makes me want to move out there . . . but only if I found a low mileage `84 like my old one!

The 84 and 85 supra's are sick. My sister had an 85 and I like the body style better than the 86-91. I thought there would be a ton of them on CL but no luck.

When I was in High School, I saw a 89 Supra you know the one with the flip open headlights, but this one had a headlight that look "kinda" like the 300zx.

I was thinking of buying this Kaminari Bodykits body kit for my 89, I think it looks pretty good.

Wow, the 89's look good in white. And did the 89 come in t-tops or is that custom built the one you have in your picture?

I still say the last generation of Supras was easily one of the hottest cars of the 90's...one of those cars I looked at as a kid and thought "man, i GOTTA get one of those!"

If you afford one you could make a pretty good profit off them, 24,000k is alot cheaper then this one.

$129,000.00 1025 HP
