04 EL remote entry issue
I have a 2004 EL premium and when I hit the lock button on the remote twice, it does not chirp or beep. Anyone have any idea if this is a feature that can be turned on and off? if so, how do you turn it back on?

to AcuraWorld!Do your lights flash when you press the button once? If not, that means something is still "open" and therefore the security system will not arm. Subsequently the second time you press the button, the horn will not honk. I can't remember if it's programmable or not to have the car honk or not. As long as your lights flash, the security system is armed. Pressing the button the second is just an additional check with the horn giving you an audible confirmation. |

Yes, the lights flashing (front side markers and rear lights) are your visual indication that the security system has armed itself. Check to see if your doors are actually locked. Also look for the flashing red light on the dashboard and also on the radio.

Thanks for the advice. I only just got the car on Thursday so i'm going to get it checked out some day this week.
I know for sure that the doors do lock and the red light on the stereo does blink. Im hoping its something basic that is making it not flash/beep when I lock it. |
