Hi, I am new here. I have been looking picture of the new CSX. I just bought one CSX Premium Automatic. I agree with RiceBoy. They should have used the dashboard design from the Euro Civic to make a more distinctive car. This dash is very beautiful. Samething for the car. It's the more beautiful of the 3 new Civic (Japan, Europe, USA/Canada). Mags are same of the Japan Civic model S (EX in Canada). The S model came with SVA and TCS and fog lights. In option HICC available (Highway Intelligent Cruise Control) and Navy system. A very nice car in black.
We have very few cars o the market in Canada that are small - yet have some bells and whistles that mark it as sport/luxury. Yes, the EL (and now CSX) are basically Civics, BUT with the toys you cannot get on a Civic...ie.. leather, heated seats, etc.......
You can get leather heated seats but not Navi on the Mazda3. The Mazda3 does have rain sensing wipers.
I love the new Civic/CSX design, I think they did a good job. But I don't think they built a car that trumped the Mazda3
The Mazda3 still is more fun to drive, it has more torque, a sportier suspension and has a better shifter.
Mind you I'm not a fan of the Mazda3s over-the-top styling. I feel its a design that will get dated quickly and look funny in a few years. The Civic/CSX styling looks like it can hold its ground for 20 years+ like the early 90s Civics

Yea... the design is subtle and will last forever..
And the Mazda 3 doesn't have paddle shifters as an option
Without driving the CSX, how can anyone make the assumption that the Mazda 3 handles better (and as of now, unless you work for Honda, you could not possibly have not driven the CSX)? You can compare it to the Civic, but remember, they have tuned the suspension differently in the CSX, and until you drive it, you cannot say one handles better than the other. Same thing with the transmission/shifter, especially when it comes to the paddle shifters, because this will only be the 2nd Acura to have paddle shifters (after the RL), and it will be the first time we will see a K-series engine mated to paddle shifters.
You cannot make such hard comparisons until the car becomes available.

I don't get all the hype over the paddle shifters. It's still the same transmission, just the way you have 'control' over the gears is changed. The lag time is still there, and it's still a regular automatic transmission. Instead of using the tapping the gear shift up and down, you tap the paddle shifters.
For some people, I guess it makes them feel like they're driving an F1 car

I am currently looking into getting a 2006 Civic Si, and after seeing the specs for the CSX, I must say I would consider it. But for this car to be worth purchasing, the sticker price has to be cheaper than the RSX and the upcoming Civic Si. I also noticed it has the same steering wheel as the civic Coupe too nice touch! Civic sedans have a 2 spoke wheel.
Also consider that the insurance for a Civic Si will most likely be higher than for a CSX.

We just got our first shipment of CSX's today (6) in total and they look even better in person and they drive nice from what I can tell. We got 2 feet of snow so its a little hard to tell what they handle like and what kind of pick up they have but im sure ill know soon.. For any of the Canadian boys out there especially the eastern boys go down to your local Acura stores they would have got them days ago and scam one of the sales guys to let you take one for a tear....... cause they go from east - west, when they ship them. Ive driven Mazda 3's and i think its a paper weight compared to the CSX but you guys will have to go out and judge that for yourself...

Cool, we'd like to hear some performance numbers. Also keep us updated on any RDX news
I wont be able to get any real track #'s till next spring/summer when i take one to the track to mess around. The snow we get around here kinda puts a damper on enthusiast drivers 6 months of the year.. Im sure some magazine will test one soon and we will know the approximate numbers....
That was in Asia, not North America, and that engine put out about 150HP, nowhere near the 197HP that the Si has.
