Nice find!
I also see that there are metal sport pedals. Does the regular CSX have white stitching on the leather? Looks good with the stitching. Although I think they should have done something more visually to distinguish it even more from teh regular CSX. The rims at least are different, but they should of had a standard Type-S only body kit. Maybe it will have some nice exclusive colours. I'm curious how this will sell though, since the current CSX isn't moving that well out of showrooms, and then there is that high price. |

Yes the pedals look nice.The premium CSX has the leather but no white stitching and i'm kinda surprised they didn't go with red stitching.I can't prove it yet but I think the TYPE-S will have Red illumination and it also has red TYPE-S badges on the floor mats that you can just see in the one pic.I didn't get a look at the tailpipe but it would seem from the advertising it is now a single pipe.
I really can't believe they didn't put a skirt kit on this car for the money they want.Would have made the package more attractive to potential buyers. Rims are a little weak too. If you see a Taffetta or Fiji CSX,guaranteed it's a TYPE-S.It will also be available in ABS and NBP. The CSX has been the number one seller in Canada almost every month since it was released.The 06 MDX beat it by a couple units I think it was August because of the 07's coming out they dropped prices to clear the 06's out. ![]() |

I'm kind of suprised that the CSX has been the number 1 seller. My dealership hasn't been selling a whole lot of them. They have tons on the lot. I really don't see a whole lot of them on the road either. I wonder if that means Acuras as a whole in Canada have been moving slower than usual, overshadowed by Honda Civics, Fits and soon the new CR-V selling like wildfire.

I rarely see any CSX's on the road either.It's tough to compare it to any other model Acura's you see considering the CSX has only been out a year.EL's are everywhere these days.
Maybe in a couple years we will see alot more. I'll try to get the official number of how many units have been sold since it's release last year.If I was to take a guess I would say it's close to 5000 units. Oh and what dealer do you work at if you don't mind me asking and what do you do there? |

I don't work at a dealer. I meant the dealer that I go to hasn't sold a lot of them. I said "my dealership" because I've gone to the same dealer for the 5 years I had my EL, and bought both my EL and TSX from the same salesperson too. My EL found a good home quickly when I traded it in because it was only ever touched by one dealership. I go to Acura East in Ajax, and they have always treated me very well and done great work on both the EL and the TSX so far. I can't say I've ever had a complaint against them. They also keep winning customer service and satisfaction awards every year from Acura Canada.

Ahhhh I see.
Well that's good that you have a dealer that treats you right. BTW I didn't get the YTD total for CSX but just for reference they sold over 200 the first month and for September they sold 541 CSX's which has been about average and the next best seller was the TL at 464units. |

I disagree when most people find CSX type S expensive. Just compare this car to other car models with their horsepower, package(s) and price;
Acura CSX type S, 197hp at 8000rpm, sunroof, limited slip, navigation pkg etc. all for $33,400 vs; Acura TSX at 205hp at 6000rpm at $35,900. if you want with navigation pkg at $38,700 yikes!!! only a slight difference of 8hp between these two cars. too expensive. Acura RSX type S at $33,400. same msrp with csx type S but without HID and navigation and a difference of only 4hp between the two. and rsx comes only with two door and this car have been phased out of the acura lineup for 2007. i'll miss this car cauz it's a fun car to drive though. Mini cooper S with 168hp at $34,100!!! that's a lot of money for a two door car and without navigation pkg. it's very tight inside, car insurance is higher and not practical. Mazdaspeed 3 at $30,995. comes with 263hp, limited slip, HID, 18inch wheels etc... but without sunroof and navigation system. a very good deal!?!??! but to some it is still a "mazda" cauz it lacks the refinement compare to acura. but the auto critics love this car. VW GTI with 200hp price at $29,375. if u add up with sunroof, navigation pkg, leather seats comes to $32,650. not bad of a deal but this car is two door. i heard there will be gti four door coming in next year but i'm pretty sure the msrp will be higher without the navigation pkg. The nissan se-r, i heard is due early next spring. nissan have not revealed features, specs and pricing for this car but it is something to look forward to. the 2007 sentra styling is very dull but same goes with acura csx. i heard nissan cars have been improving a lot every year. as you can tell, i have done my homework since i'm ready to trade in or sell my 2003 mazda protege 5. so acura csx type s is a good deal and definitely the car on top of my list and mazdaspeed 3 comes second. after all, when comparing csx vs the cars above, the main selling point for csx type s is navigation system comes as standard. I just have to wait for sentra se-r coming next year... and then i'll decide. |

The TSX is a much more superior vehicle to the CSX in many ways. There is no comparison (I have a TSX, so I know), so the price difference of less than $3000, IMO, makes the TSX the better value, even though it would not have navigation at that price. Even with the 8HP difference, it is still significant, especially when the TSX engine has a bigger displacement, which as your numbers show, that peak horsepower hits 2000rpm lower than the CSX, which means it doesn't struggle as much to get there as the CSX does, and it will be easier on the eardrums and engine mounts. I also don't like that with the navigation on the CSX, you lose the 6 CD changer and you get a single CD player. The TSX does not have this problem. And I still can't get used to that 2 tier dashboard.
You didn't include the Civic Si in your comparison. A Civic Si can be bought for over $6,000 less. Yes, it has no navi, no VSA, no leather, but it's $6,000 less! |
