Acura EL.

These Canadian acuras are like 95% rip off of the previous generation civics. Everything is the same except for the symbols and bigger tail lights. Why dont we have these in America?

Are you new here?? It appears not, and you live in London, Ontario. The EL has been around about 8 years and are a nicer Civic for the Canadian market only. I expect that with the gas prices, they may sell now in the USA, but not prior as Americans like larger vehicles.

I know there were EL's from before, infact I prefer the look of the previous gen EL. The current gen EL is just plain a civic, Id rather a civic coupe than EL, but EL probably does get better gas mileage because of smaller displacement. I dont think its luxury though.

There is no current gen EL. It's now the CSX, is that what you are referring to? Under the hood and inside, the CSX is more different from the Civic than the EL ever was. There is no shared engine this time...the CSX uses the base RSX 2.0L engine, and it offers DVD navigation, HID headlights, paddle shifters, etc.

The question isn't why doesn't the USA have these cars, the question is why does Canada have them? Simply, less expensive and smaller cars sell extremely well in Canada, much more than in the US, mainly because Canadians have less disposible income than Americans. Therefore Canadians don't spend as much on average on cars as Americas do, so small near luxury car fits in very well. The EL was the best selling Acura in Canada almost every year it existed.
