Carrying Bikes on EL - Hitch, Roof, or Trunk Mount

Hey folks, just wondering if people have any recommendation from experience. I'd like to carry a couple of bikes but wondering what the best way is? Hitch, Roof Rack system, or trunk mount?

Hitch, that way nothing really touches the car. I have a Saris to a 1 1/2" reciever hitch. Works great

Had a 1984 Toyota Supra and had a custom made bike rack for the hatch - even though it was designed to prevent damage to the hatch, the hatch suffered the damage. When i bought my `94 Teg, I went the bumper hitch route. After 7 or 8 years, the teg showed no evidence of all the bike hauling I did.

I'm with Bob Z - Hitch is the only way to go!

It may be a good idea to use a Velcro style strap to attach the wheels to the frame of the bike to prevent them from spinning while you drive. A spinning wheel could rub against the car and damage your paint. Be careful headliners might get cracked.

hitch mount ALL THE WAY! Tried to get away with the trunk mount one on my RSX...I padded the crap outta it with towels and rubber to make sure I didn't do damage, then of course, I cracked the "A" emblem...and put a permanent concave dip into the hatch. There's no good way to do it...you GOTTA get a hitch receiver installed and use a hitch bike rack!
