The Design - Acura CSX
Cool..!
“The CSX is not a rebadged JDM Honda Civic, rather Honda Japan chose the Canadian-designed CSX as the JDM Civic - the JDM Civic is in fact a rebadged Acura. ...contrary to a popular misconception, Acura Canada didn't merely re-badge a Japanese Civic with an Acura label, but rather designed the car from scratch, more or less, at which point it was adopted by Honda Japan, as its new Civic; Japanese buyers traditionally being more conservative than North Americans and/or Europeans when it comes to design. On another note, the CSX's unique side-view mirrors, which integrate an unorthodox triangular turn signal, may have first appeared on the Civic Hybrid but were originally designed for the compact Acura, and were only adopted by the Hybrid later on, in order to give the car a more modern, space-age character.” Last edited by duckdog : 03-13-08 at 07:04 AM. |

The 1st gen (1997-2004) Acura EL was the same. It was sold overseas as the Honda Domani. The 2nd gen (2001-2005) Acura EL design was exclusively Canadian and not available anywhere else in the world, despite its underpinning were very much from a Civic.
The CSX takes a slight departure and uses the base engine from the now discontinued RSX. The CSX Type S is essentially a 4-door Civic Si, with more luxury to it, and a few extras, like auto climate control, VSA, HID headlights, and of course those aforementioned mirror turn signals. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by RiceBoy : 03-15-08 at 06:40 PM. |
