Changing Low Beam bulb, installing a SRI

My driver side low beam light went out the other day, so I ordered a D2R bulb from curryacuraparts.com for $98 shipped (pretty good deal for a OEM genuine acura part). The driver side is a pain to get to, so I had to remove the resonator, and I fell short because I don't have the torx security key #20, so I'm going to have to change the bulb tomorrow, if its the bulb I hope its not the ballast or igniter. While I had everything out, I decided to go ahead and order a SRI, I bought one online today, should be come in a couple of days. My question is what is the difference if I take out the lower resonator also if I'm going to install the SRI. I also read somewhere that I have to cover one of the holes if I take out the lower resonator, is that true? why do it as opposed to not doing it?
