Clock Illumination -- 2002 TL

Does the interior clock have a backlight? Seems like I remember reading an automobile review that stated the clock is not illuminated when the parking or headlights are turned on. The owner's manual does not address this.

It's not illuminated constantly. You have to turn on either the side markers with the brake lights or the headlights to get the inside lights to turn on. Hope that answers your question.

When I turn on the parking or headlights, the clock does not light up at all.

I have this same problem with my car. I think it's a short in the light somehow, because it hasn't worked for about a year now and a few months ago it was working for a short period of time.

Mandiew, do your rear defrost, front defrost buttons light up at night when you turn on your lights. I can't remember if those are suppost to illuminate or not.

Yes. Both my rear and front defrost buttons light up when I turn on my lights. I found out from my Acura service manager that the light in my clock needs to be replaced -- cost is $121 for parts and labor. I cannot take riding at night without my clock being visible. I'm a little neurotic and anal when it comes to things like that (smile).
