Difference between a regular and a Type S

I know it's kind of a newbie question but, I was wondering what difference is there that makes the regular TL and a TL-S diffrent (besides badges, rims, and price of course) .

Don't get me wrong, I've tried to do my research and all I've come up with is that a regular TL is 225HP while a Type-S is 260HP.

Oh, and whats "TL-P"?

Thanks, and I would appreciate any help.

tl-p is tl premium, basically just the regular tl.

main difference is engine of course, with different intake size as well.

seats are different, dash is different, wood could be different (on ebony interior), shifter

forgot what else are different

hm, I see, so basically its the engine overall thats diffrent. I've thought about putting money towards the engine (Headers, Intake, exhaust system) but then I thought, well, if I do all this, whats the point? A stock TL-S will still out-run me.

Off topic: I see that you have a GS400 under your car list. That was the car I wanted but my parents got me this 00 3.2TL instead. I personally like the GS400 better since I'm more of a BlackOynxExterior/Interior-Black19"RimsW/cromelips-and-a-12"SoloX-in-the-back kind of guy rather than a more sporty TL-guy.

Here is one I think everybody forgot The TL model has (TCS) Traction Control System. This automaticaly transfers torque to the drive wheel with the better grip at any speed under 25mph. The TL Type-S model has (VSA) Vehicle Stability Assist. A highly advanced system . Using information from the yaw lateral-g, road-speed and steering sensors, the VSA computer compares the drivers intended course with how the car is responding on the road. In the event it detects the beginnings of understeer or oversteer,it can automatically apply brake pressure to the appropriate front wheel and/or reduce throttle to help bring the vehicle back onto its intended path.VSA incorperates the benefits of the Traction Control System(TCS)

TLS has over the TLP:

260HP and 232 torque (not positive on the torque number believe thats it tho)- which is due to a different intake, exhaust, bigger throttle body, different VTEC tuning, and a higher compression ratio.

Stiffer springs and shocks and a thicker rear anti roll bar

larger wheels and tires (17" vs. 16")

Torque sensing power steering (different from the regular speed sensitive power steering on the TLP) with a tighter steering ratio as well

VSA (vehicle stability assist) Stability control which includes all speed traction control as opposed to traction control that only functions under 25mph in the TLP

Type S exterior badging

Interior

smoked wood interior trim
white face gauges
perforated leather seats
"sport" seat design
type S badging on shift knob also covered in perforated leather
