Driver's side door won't open. Help Please.

I have a 2000 3.2 TL the driver's side door is shut and seems to be locked. The handle outside and inside will not work the latch. I have pulled the door panel off at the top as much as I can with the door shut and everything looks to work properly but acts like its still locked. Have tried the manual, electric, and remote lock/unlock nothing works. Tried pushing and pulling on the door while locking/unlocking and trying to open using both handles. Still nothing works. Thanks for any help. PS. just tired of the dukes of hazard climb through the window.

There's a little plastic clip that goes from the handle to the latch. I'm guessing one of those may have broken.

Both clips are still good and attached properly. It works the latch but acts like the latch is still locked and only lets the handle move so far but not far enough to unlatch the door.

The mechanical portion of the latch broke. When this happens, its a pain to get the door open. Since you were able to get the door panel off, you have to destroy the mechanical portion of the lock.

Try using a prybar and a hammer. It takes a lot of work, but once you get the back cover of the mechanical latch off by breaking it, you will be able to manually release the latch when it becomes visible.

You will need a new door lock actuator, and latch assembly once you get it apart.

You can get it, just be patient.
