Fuel tank size

I know the 03 TL Type S has a 17.2 gallon fuel tank. Does anyone know the usable fuel amount (ie: how many gallons are left when the gas light comes on?)

If you want to get picky, the actual size is 17.17 gallons (easy to remember). Most manufacturers allow about a 75 mile range when their low-fuel light comes on. In my TL-S, when the light comes on I've got about 3 gallons left, which works out to probably 65-80 miles left. Of course, that's assuming you could use every last drop in the tank which is unrealistic. Figure at least 1/4 of a gallon will not be able to be picked up reliably by the fuel pump.

True. I finally completed my first tank in the TL-S today. I filled up about 5 miles after the gas light came on and it took 14.3 gallons in so I guess you were right on the money. I had 21.11 mpg combined with mainly city and some highway miles. My wife drove some too and she has a heavy foot so I guess we did pretty good.

Any Fuel MPG tools or parts working for anyone. I Keep seeing or hearing rumors of people getting 32-33 MPG on HWY in TL-Stype. I have not seen that. Best has been 25. Help

I just put a new intake on my TL-S. I will let you know my mileage after a few tanks. As of now, it's looking like I'm getting a lot better gas mileage on the highway and less in the city. Has anyone ever tried those fuel savers on ebay ie:tornado or turbonator? I understand the theory of the vortex air, just don't believe in it enough to pay the money for one yet.

Fuel savers = snake oil. Absolutely useless and proven a joke time and time again.

That's the general consensus on every forum. You never know though, sometimes you run across a firm believer that swears they work .

Well, I just finished my first tank with the cold air intake. I got 305 miles before the gas light came on and when I filled up it took 13.5 gallons so 22/23 mpgs in the city. A slight improvement over my first tank of 21 mpgs city.
