Location of OBDII port
I thought I read somewhere that the OBDII port is under the "coin tray" in the center console, behind a plastic piece. Well I took off that piece and saw nothing, is that where it's supposed to be? It's a 2003 TLS

Yep that is the location of that port I am sure its the same for your car as in my 2000TL. I had posted a few weeks ago how coins had got behind there & jammed around the port. This prevented me from passing DC Inspection a few weeks ago. I had to have the dealer remove them then I went back to the Inspection station & passed when they could hook up to that port & get a reading from the car.

What strange things they do I wonder if they had so many problems with money getting stuck behind the coin tray. This prevents it from closing all the way. I remember on the old TL board back in 99-2000 many guys would have coins falling back behind the tray. I did not have that problem until a few years ago & my coin tray would not close all the way. When I went thru Inspection 2yrs ago they wavied my car for some reason on the emission part of it. They also could have done it back in 2002 the first time I went thru Inspection. But they may not have been doing that kind of test on the cars back then. Anyway I did not even know that port was in that spot.

The reason they relocated it is because they knew they were going to need easier access, especially with the trannys they put in there. I hete my TL-S!!
