im starting to get concerned about my car's tranny... its got lil over 155.5k miles on it and sometimes as im driving, it would feel like its jerking and the RPMs would bounce a lil bit... is that a sign of failure?
about 3 weeks ago i was going on a 300 mile trip with my girlfrind from CA to AZ and right when i crossed the border into AZ about 2 miles in (~160 miles from home) my trans went out. in drive revvving but no wheel turning! talk about the middle of the desert. it took AAA 3 hours to find me on the 10 freeway
Mines started at 90,000 miles and now I am trying to buy a tranny
Acura has extended your tranny warranty to 100K miles. If you have not hit the 100K mark, tell your dealer your tranny is slipping and they should replace it.

I've started to have similar problems. I'll be driving along at city speeds 60-70kph or 45ish mph I guess, and I'm not sure if its me kind of pushing and letting off the gas, or what. But the rpm's will bounce from 1500 to 2500 once in a while. I hope this isn't a sign but I'm not sure either.
First transmission was slipping around 150km (~90 miles). I had it rebuilt but now I'm wondering if I should have bought a used 6speed from a 3rd gen TL and got that one rebuilt and installed instead. Any thoughts?

It has to be within 7 years or they will not replace the tranny for you.
But i have a 99 Acura TL with 95,000K. The tranny seem to shifts with a light jerk sometimes from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd. But it has not slipped or anything yet(KNOCK ON WOOD.)
okay, so... last sunday i was on my way to see some of my wife's family for dinner and noticed that the CEL and TCS lights came on and that my car would rev all the way up to 4500 to 5000 rpm and not shift plus a burning smell... took it to autozone to get the free diagnostic done and it threw a code P0740 (TCC SOLENOID/LOW TRANS FLUID/ELEC FAILURE or something of the sort)... WTF, Over!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

If i got a tranny replaced last year(100k+ miles), how long will my next one last before i have to replace it again?
No one knows, if it was replaced after 2005 -- I'd say you have a chance of it working for another 90-100K+ miles. Take care of period fluid changes with Honda ATF, and dont abuse it, and it should work another 100K miles/
I have a 2002 Acura 3.2TL Type S I just got recently with 70k on it. So today, I noticed the RPM's were reving up very high and the car didn't shift. Then I came to a stop light and accelerated and everything was fine. This scares me due to the transmission problems I have been hearing. It seems to shift hard as well in 2nd gear, etc. I see there was a recall for 7 years or 100k....has anyone got Acura to cover this still in 2011?
I think I am going to need a new tranny soon and don't want this to happen......too expensive.
