A/C doing some funny stuff - Acura Forum

I have a 96 2.5 TL. My AC seems to work fine when I am driving, especially on the highway. When I stop and have the car in drive it starts to warm up and the car starts to do some funny stuff. It starts to idle up and down. I hear something click and it feels like the car jumps forward a little and then sets back. I look at the idle thing and it just jumps up and down. If I put the car in park or nuetral it will stop (occasionally it will start back up) but the air does not cool. It feels like something is trying to turn on but is unable to. I know this sounds like an odd problem and I thought it was until I found out my Dad has the same problem with his 96 2.5 TL. Any ideas?

sounds like your transmission is about to go out. do a transmission flush and see if it goes away. transmission flush isn't expensive at all.

check the cooling fans under the hood and see if they are working . since you say it's not cooling I would guess the a/c compressor is not comming on but the car's computer thinks it's on boosting the idle . either your low on freon or theres somthing wrong with the compressor or compressor relay.
