3.5 Liter Upgrade Pricing =)

I thought I would start my own thread about the pricing on this thing since everyone seems to want to know.

OK guys...here is what we have for pricing information...there will actually be 3 different ways to do this....

1. Stock block and gasket set to have this completed $1750 shipped to you. This is a high compression 10.8:1 (with stock CL-S/TL-S heads) non power-adder short block. (Although nitrous doesn't mind high compression, it's not a turbo or s/c application.)

2. Stock block with shot peened & magnafluxed stock rods, chamfered oil passages and balanced rotating assembly--with gasket set $3030 shipped to you. These are also 10.8:1 with the stock CL-S/TL-S heads.

3. Stock block like #2 + custom forged pistons 10.14:1, file to fit rings, shot peened/magnafluxed rods, balanced & assembled, $4300 shipped to you. (this is what is currently in the car we just finished) We can also have an all motor version of this done--just let us know what compression ratio you want to have and we can build it.

If you would like to send your car to us and have us complete the install, the labor is $1950.

Time frame for this will be dependent on how far you would like to take it. The custom pistons are about a 4-6 week lead time to receive--the machine shop is about a weeks worth of work and shipping time to you. FYI: There are currently 3 blocks available in the U.S., so availability may be an issue in the near future as they may go on national back order---I just found this out a few minutes ago.

The car runs great in its current NA configuration and this will be insane once boost is applied to it in the near future.

Transmissions are available in 2 Stages:

Stage 1 is with a funace brazed stock housing converter providing a 200RPM increase in stall speed. $2500+freight

Stage 2 is an anti-ballooning aftermarket converter--not a stock housing....provides a higher stall and suitable for power adder vehicles. $3500+freight

There are not as many internal parts available currently for the CLS/TLS 5Speed Autos as there are for the Accord/Preludes. The transmissions above are with Kevlar clutches and hardened steel shafts. We are awaiting the release of Carbon/Graphite clutches for these applications. Running production changes will occur as these parts become available.

Thanks again everyone and I just want to say that we are very pleased to be able to bring this to market for everyone.

I assume you can't do the 3.5L upgrade w/o rebuilding the trans, eh?

92coupeon18s,

Let me run some part numbers and see what I can come up with for you.

Brian,

Acutally, no, you do not need to do both at the same time. The motor upgrade can be done now and the tranny when you feel like it.

Everyone,

This swap with the 10.8:1 compression is too high for 91 octane, but we are working with a company to make a thicker head gasket so that the compression will be around 10.4:1 which will be suitable for 91.

Thanks!
Dean

I guess that's going to kill Cali sales until you get that lower compression. 91 is the best we have out here.

spyder5786,

The one we have completed was a Type S, so we know it is compatible with them. Do you have a Premium? If so, I just need to check on some things to verify fitments.

Dean

so these trannies don't require a core at that price obviously. I would also take a guess at saying you've fixed the Acura factory tranny problem by upgrading the clutch packs also, right? Where do they ship from (city state...asking for shipping reasons)
This is awesome innovation guys. Keep it up.
