JL buyer
Hey Mike!
I was curious if you could help me with my setup. I decided to do JL throughout my car and this is what I need... Subwoofer: 12W6v2 Front stage: XR-650-CSi Rear deck: VR-690-CXi Component amp: JL 300/4 Sub amp: JL 500/1 Questions... 1. What sound processing, if any would you chose. I prefer using the factory deck for a clean look. I know I am sacrificing some sound quality because of this but I am willing to accept it. Do you think it will be a drastic difference switching the factory deck to an Alpine deck? 2. Do you the think the sub amp will be overkill? Should I go with a 250x1 instead? Any other suggestions would be appreciated. Oh yeah, this is all going in a 2002 BMW 330Ci.

I'm sure Mike'll be here in a sec to answer some of this...but I'll go ahead and do this too... 1) I wouldn't bother if you're keeping the factory deck...to be honest with you. You'll have flexibility and scalability upgrading the deck, and using a processor will help for that...but there's not much you can do with the stock HU... 2) Definitely not overkill. The sub is 400W rms...it can easily handle 500W. Austin519
