04 TSX Trip Reset Knob

I believe the knob on my newly purchased 04 TSX is missing from the trip reset dial. I don't know how to reset my trip mileage. : help :

Well yah.

I need to either 1) find a new knob in a parts list book or 2) figure out how to come up with a work-around to figure out how to reset my trip counter... so I don't have to keep writing mileage down on the back of my fuel receipts.

Thanks for your observation though.

Ok then dont write, "I believe my knob is missing." Did you buy from a dealer? Find out why it's missing.

The KNOB is MISSING. The dial (rod, whatever you want to call it), however is still there. It spins clockwise and counter clockwise, but does not function as a trip reset. I'm not sure why. Yes, I did get it from a Used Vehicle dealer. I am bringing my TSX in to the dealership tomorrow to get my arm rest replaced and passenger side headlight buffed out with a compound, due to some yellowy condensation-esque buildup. I can mention it to them tomorrow.

So you cant push it in to reset it without the knob??? You should still be able to push in the rod without the knob. And remember, you're on the internet, explain your problem precisely because no one can see what you're talking about. Let us know what your dealer says.

Yeah, it's weird that I can rotate the dial, but can't push it in. I'll let you know what they say. If they have no insight, I will head over to the Acura dealership.

When you turn the knob, does your backlighting get lighter/brighter?

Well, there's two knobs. The one on the right hand side adjusts the brightness of all the gauges. Then there is a knob on the left. It is the knob on the left, correct?

I'm thinking that it may possibly be a wiring issue. I made a quick video to show the people of the intarwebz what I mean, thanks to redlight_005's diligence.

Exactly, I was thinking maybe you were looking at the wrong one. Not the case.

Nice vid......yeah the left one should push in and take you from trip A to trip B and push and hold to reset. Definetly tell your dealer something is amiss. Let us know how you make out.

I took the video down, because I posted this topic at another forum, and someone else suggested it might have been the right knob to push-hold for reset (at least it is that way on his 07 TSX). So I guess I jumped the gun on taking the video down. I'll put it back up and relink.

OK. Back from the dealer. Apparently some ass-clown stuck the left knob in backwards. Don't ask me why. So the maintenance tech just pulled it out and turned it around the way it's supposed to go!
