10,000 mile service - Acura Forum

i have always changed my oil every three thousand with every car i have owned. My acura dealer tells me the first service is @ 10,000. should i wait or change the oil?? My tsx also pulls slightly to the left. alignment? suggestions? thanks.

Yes! Wait to change the oil until 10,000. The oil that ships with your car has a molybdenum disulfide additive in it that helps break in the engine.

If the car is pulling to the left you probly need an alignment. If it pulled to the left we could blame road crown, but not pulling to the left.

Speaking of service, I checked the oil level on my 05 the other day, and noticed that it was low. I have about 5850 miles on my car, and in a couple of months I will have had it for 1 year.

Yes, I don't drive that much. In any case, I tell the dealer about the low oil levels, and how I've heard a lot of people on Acura boards say that the K24 engine tends to burn oil. The guy snaps, and tells me that this is BS, and that he joined a couple of forums and was disgusted with the things people say about the K24. I said whatever, everybody is entitled to an opinion (whether fact or fiction).

As far as I know, I broke the engine in according to Acura's recommendations.

What would you guys do? Wait to have the service closer to one year and add a couple of quarts or take it in?
