Is it just me?

Is it just me, or does anyone else feel that Acura is barking up the wrong tree with some of this new technology? I got an email from Acura today and have seen on their website that they seem to be touting this new weather service as IT when it comes to tech (as found in the new TSX and RL). It seems that Acura is late to the prom when it comes to styling; but, they're also missing some of the hot-buttons of today's recession ridden economy. I'd much rather hear about better fuel economy (as a way to at least save face for the underpowered TSX), or even the ease of ownership (BMW gives 3-5 years of free maintenance).

Why is Acura pushing something as mundane as weather? I have a window--I can open it anytime and feel the temperature. I also have local news as well as this thing called the Interweb that I can see weather anytime. Why is this Acura's LEADING marketing point for the new cars THE WEATHER? It seems like an impotent old man who shops for rubbers because he has the time and money. But in the end, what good does it do him?

How much more better fuel economy do you want? Last time I checked, mine was pretty good at 28-30 mpg. Ease of ownership??? Are you kidding me? What's easier than the maintenance of an Acura? Ever "try" to do maintenance on a BMW? They make it virtually impossible to change the oil without all their special tools. They have to give out 5 year maintenance plans. In the 4 years and 50,000 miles that I have had my TSX, all I have done is oil changes, new tires at 45,000, and a pair of wiper blades. Hardly broke the bank. First you say underpowered TSX, but you also want better fuel economy. They dont mix very well. I didnt buy a TSX for the power anyway, I dont know who does.

You're missing the point. I'm not saying Acura isn't easy to own nor am I saying the fuel economy isn't good. In fact, I very much AM saying Acura economical in BOTH areas. I want to know why Acura doesn't LEAD with that kind of marking rather than 'selling' me on a gayass weather system.

Don't be so defensive. I'm an Acura fan, too.

Acura is about as trouble free as you can get, and BMW well....never mind. BMW has to offer free maintenance as their cars are so over priced.

I think Acura could go a lot further with the technology available today but appears to be taking some baby steps. It seems every so often Acura will come out with the razzle dazzle and then it just dribbles. I suppose there is extensive testing because reliability is an Acura hallmark.

Lets see what Acura offers next year.

See ya

BMW aint that bad in terms of service however, yes of course acura is better. both have their issues, if you think about it the TSX is a bit overpriced as well if compared to a 300HP subaru STI. there newfound most important thing is technology in all their cars, as it certainly is not power or drive quality. then again, their future perfomance car wont be able to access google.

You were asking why they dont lead with that kind of info....because it's a given and well known about their reliability. They're not going to beat a dead horse with that info time after time. If they did that.....everyone would be complaining that they keep marketing their reliability standard.
