Unhappy New RDX (Fugly) vs. New CR-V

Hi Folks
I have not posted for a while but I just looked at the new Acura RDX and all I can say is BOW-WOW!!! What a ugly SOB...I am really sorry to say that cause I had high hopes for the RDX. I never thought Acura would build an ugly vehicle in my life but this looks like a night mare cooked up from General Motors.

I also just saw the new CR-V from Honda and I am trading my 2003 Odyssey in for her in about 2 weeks. Its got pretty much all of the bells and whistles as the RDX but its much, much cleaner in appearance.

I do wish at times I had my 2004 TSX as it was a great car like my 1993 Legend LS.

I will admit I have had absolutely no problems with my 2006 Pilot although the Odyssey is starting to have some tranny slippage after only 32K on the odometer.

Sorry Acura, but after owning 6 great vehicles from you - you blew it this time.

See ya
OEM Bob

Really? I like the look of the RDX better than the CR-V. The grill on the CR-V is just horrid. Looks like it has massive underbite.

Nice to hear from you, Bob.

Congrats on the CRV. At least you're still in the family.

I don't think the RDX is that bad looking.

Yeah I agree I'm not feeling the exterior styling of the RDX.....the Mazda CX-7 had a sexier exterior. But I do like the design of the RDX interior and well laid out instrumentation.

Both do not look all that bad, it is that futuristic styling thing that both vehicles got going for themselves. All in all, I can see RDX motor swaps soon enough!

Geee Bob, maybe you should take a closer look, you have the ugly part mixed-up. The CR-V is the ugly homely thing that looks like a soccer mom vehicle...oh I'm sorry you are already driving a soccer mom blimp. I can see why you have confused agressive lines that are guy things with the cheesie Honda dull everyday blend-in mix. Next time try looking at the differance in the dash where things are, the Navi and sound system, night and day. then crawl under the RDX and CR-V and you will notice the size, links, A-arms and piviot points on the suspension, again night and day. Next try stepping on the gas and hit a turn hard. Now the cost, a CR-V with leather, Navi, upgraded trim 18" wheels is about $31K, the RDX with Tech package is $34K. I Looked at both, drove both and rented both I' will say this clearly Bob they are not the same vehicle the RDX is a preformance vehicle the CR-V is not simple. I would buy one for my mother in-law in a heartbeat. What does that tell yah.

I have both an 07 MDX and a 07 RDX! The CRV doesn't compare! Gutless engine, NO SH AWD and the list goes on.........Besides you probably couldn't/wouldn't handle the stiff sport suspension either ! You are better going the CR V route.......

Smile Huh????

Folks
That was a post from last year. Actually I did not buy a CR-V and bought a 2006 Acura MDX. The Acura dealer gave me quite a good trade in for my 2003 Honda Odyssey. The 2007 wasnt out quite yet, nor did I want to pay a premium price for a 2007 MDX. I still beleive the RDX is fugly...to me the front really looks like a Star Wars Imperial trooper's helmet.

The 2007 MDX took me a little while for the styling to grab me but it finally did.

See ya
