Question Picked Up 2009 TSX - Ipod Question?

Hello,

I just picked up my 2009 TSX the car is great so far; more torque than my 2005 TSX and a lot more technology features.

However, one thing that is annoying me is when I plug my I-pod into the USB port; I can search by Playlist, Artist, Album, and Song. But it doesn't show the Genre sort option that the Ipod has.

Does anybody know if I can add the Genre option?? This stinks because I have my Ipod sorted by Genre and it's what I use the most to search for songs. This would be my only complain so far on the '09 TSX.

Thank you,

olimits7

Well I thought I had a workaround to search by "Genre" but it didn't work 100% the way I wanted it to.

My workaround was I created genre playlists, but the only issue with it this time is after I go into the genre playlist it shows all the songs instead of sorting it by artist then album then songs; like the iPod does.

I hope they come out with an update to fix this software issue because it seems stupid to not make the acura ipod link navigate like the ipod does; especially now that they have the round knob that can act like the iPod circle.

Can't answer your question, however that said nice car. I am thinking of buying one, with the Navi system. This car or the 08 Accord. I like the TSX better, but the back seat is small, and takes premium fuel. I will have to test both to decide.

Does the "round knob" act like the scrollwheel on ipod to work through the ipod's menus? Also, does voice recognition work to find artists and/or songs? Thanks.

Yes, the "round knob" does work similarly to the iPod's scroll wheel, and no the voice recognition only works with the bluetooth hands free link, and not the audio system. Though that would have been a neat feature!

Can someone explain how the ipod interface works in a non navigation equiped model. What features of the ipod can I access? playlists? Songs and Artist search? Can I access the podcast and audiobook menus or will I need to put those into a playlist? Also, what about controls. Are the controls on the ipod disabled?

The IPOD interface is pretty good. I can live without the Genre feature. The problem I have is that I have a 30 GB IPOD with 5500 songs. On the IPOD, when you go through songs or artists, you begin to scroll by letters. On the car, this doesn't happen. You ahve to scroll forever to get to the artists starting with S. I've tried all the keys, nothing seems to let you search by letter, or causre the scroll wheel to speed up.
