Suggestions on a new car
Hello, I've posted this question in a few other forums and wanted to see what everyone's opinion is here.
I was looking to get a TSX to replace my 95 Integra. My teg had cloth seats and this would be my first car with leather (I only could wish it was offered in cloth). The problem is that I was reading people have had problems with leather wear in their TSX, and since I primarily wear jeans that this is a big no no with cars that have leather seats as the denim wears the leather. So I've been looking at the Civic as I would like to get a car that has a similar size as my teg. Problem is that I can't get over the hideous dash. While I don't like the two tier dash, I can't get over how large the dash is. Something just does not look good with the design. Looking at the Accord, the 08 sedan is enormous...I don't know if I could get used to the size of it. The coupe looks good but I'm worried loosing the extra two doors for throwing stuff into the back. I guess my only other option is getting a used 2005 Civic. While I don't want to get a used car I think I would rather have something used which I like. Any suggestions/comments would be greatly appreciated. Last edited by npolite : 12-16-07 at 08:01 PM. |

So the only reason with not going with the TSX is because of the leather seats? I wouldn't worry about the jeans and leather issue, thats all I wear is jeans and my seats look like new.

Thanks for the information. I'm leaning towards that now too. My jeans do not have rivets on the back pockets so I'm not worried about them tearing the leather. Now the tough decision is do I get the TSX now or wait three months for the new re-design. |

Personally, I would wait. But then again, you're buying the first year of makeover. I still would wait.

I wish I could but my Integra is chewing through tires every 8k miles at the moment. I've taken it to body shops to have it fixed, they all say the alignment is good but the problem is still there. I've given up on fixing it so I'm in need of a car soon. |

Alright then I guess you need to get a TSX now then! lol. Are your tires wearing evenly? Pressure is ok? You said alignment is ok, how about shocks/springs? Wheel bearings? Is the car lowered?

Tires have been wearing unevenly on the inside since I have owned the car. Tire pressure has been set at the GS-R spec since my rims are the GS-Rs even though I have an LS. I am assuming that the shocks/springs are the originals but then again the alignment shows that camber/caster and toe are within specs, and since I am getting uneven wear on the inner walls, that is a toe issue. Have you checked your ball joints?
Check your lower ball joints....it used to be on how to check them was you jacked up the front end an inch or so, and placed a crow bar underneath the tire. If there was any upward play, the joint was bad and needed replacement.
Ball joints serve as the pivot points between the tires and suspension. Ball joints also support weight. On some vehicles, the ball joints may be used to make wheel alignment settings. Good luck OEM Bob
