Tinting a TSX (Cost?)

How much is too much to tint the back, and four door windows? Like, the no shit, pay no more than $___.__ USD for the premium uber best quality, unlimited/transferable warranty, "best auto window tinters on the East Coast" etc. etc.

I think I'm paying a hefty price for the appointment I have scheduled. Unfortunately, I had to make a down payment ($100) to get the appt. and it is non-refundable. I just want some comfort in knowing that I'm not wasting my money (which I am oft good at doing).

After checking out the web site it would appear to be top notch..the proof will be when they are done tiniting your TSX and whether you will be happy with the job. Just make sure its 50 state legal or the cops will break your chops.

I'm getting something darker than 20% on Thursday, dont know yet, the guy wont talk on the phone about illegal tint. But I do know that he said it would be $199 and that includes windshield strip.

I would say dont do the windshield strip, just draws attention. If you are getting it tinted, you have to go illegal, otherwise there really is no sense in tinting because for it to be legal, its so light it doesnt even look tinted.

Even 45% & rare 50% tint is good people always think of that not beeing nothing. It will give the shadow effect if its 45% & also provide you with glare protection and heat rejection. I have had the 50% tint on the rear window ever since I got my 2000 TL almost 9yrs ago. I have to take my 45% of the sides to pass DC inspection every 2 yrs. My sister & I share a Honda Ridgeline Truck & she lives in Maryland so the truck is Registered in MD . You can have 35% tint on the windows legal. Since it has factory tint on all windows. When we got it I had the drivers & front passenger windows tinted 35%. Washington DC has the worst tint laws around I think.Factory tint on SUVTrucks, MiniVans is okayexcept drivers & front passenger window. Non factory tint on passenger cars is not allowed unless its 50% on the rear & lighter on the other windows. Them fools even tried to fail my rear window this year going thru inspection. The guy at the end of the line told me to go inside & get a supervisor. He said I think it should pass. I told him that 50% has always been on the car. In 2002 that was the first year my car had to go thru inspection that tint was on thecar I always take the tint off on the sides. The supervisor came out & said he thinks it would pass also. & it did with the light meter. I will get the sides retinted because the 45%tint has seem to have protected the ebony seats from fading after all the yrs I have had the car. Its parked outside unlike other cars I have owned that were always garage kept.

That sucks about the DC laws. I got 15% yesterday, almost got 10%. I am happy. Car looks way better with tint. Now to find some wheels.

Yes the DC laws reguarding to tinted windows does suck. They should allow 45% I would be happyoff couse I have it on anyway untill the Biyearly inspection. The police will not even mess with you with 45% tint on the sides. Eveytime I go thru Inspection I always say my next vehicle will be a SUV/SUT or Crossover type that has the rear & back door windows factoy tinted. This is because of crazy tint laws here. I could do the same thing as I did on the Ridgeline truck put 35% on drivers & front passenger. My neghibor that lives behind me has Maryland tags on his Black GMC ENVOY SUV when he got it I told him to put 35% tint on the drivers & passenger that is legal in Maryland & DC would not mess with him since the vehicle was registered in Maryland. He got the illegal tint to almost match the factory tint. He has been doing okay for the last 5 yrs but told me last month Park Police pulled him over a few blocks away. Park Police can stop you in areas of the city patroled by them. He said the young park police officer was shocked when he open the window. My neighbor is over 65yrs old & had the young grand kids in the back waving at the Park Policeman. They gave him a warning about the tint.

LOL, thats crazy! Cops need to find better things to do. If I had to get 45% tint, I might as well not do it as its not much difference except for uv protection. But thats just me. FL says we arent supposed to do darker than 35% on front windows, but hardly anybody follows that law. Police dont really enforce it either. Even if I get pulled over with my 15%, I'll just roll all the windows down. Hopefully that works, but like I said my local police are really lax about it.

Hey guys, I'm new the forum and this thread caught my eye. I have my TSX tinted limo (5%) the whole way around and i love it. I went with the best 3M tint the place had but it ran me $230. The legal limit here is 50% so i paid them on the low with no receipt. I've even thought about getting the windshield done about 40% but i'm fairly blind and the place said that they couldn't guarantee they could do it without damaging the glass (they said sometimes the glass cracks, i guess it's different from the rest of the glass). I have a few friends who will pass my inspection every year as long as i pull up with the windows down. I'll go out and take a pic to show you what the end result looks like. I love it. Don't laugh, the car is pretty dirty.

You should tint your whole windshield. i did 50% and you cant really tell from the inside, but it blocks out the sun, and you cant really see inside your car from the front (which looks awesome). i had 5% all around, side windows and rear window and i definately got pulled over twice. so i redid the sides with 15%. This was the 5%

I'm actually pretty surprised that I haven't been pulled over for it yet, especially since the white paint makes the windows stand out a bit. My old car, an Olds Alero, had %15 on the sides and I got pulled over in it several times. Do you do the tinting yourself or do you have it done?

I have it done at a shop, i always go there and the guy that works there recommended to get my windshield tinted haha, because he did the same to his car. i only paid $100 for windshield and the two side windows.
