Car 1: Toyota corolla
Urgent question about paint job?

Hello,
My friend is currently in the process of buying an Acura TSX 05. The car he is currently looking at is a manual one (acura certified) that he is very interested in. However, the car has been keyed on one side completely along the entire length of the car. He can try to get the car at a lower price or get a paint job done to take care of it. This vehicle is at an acura certified dealership and they said that they can do a really good paint job compared to places outside. So my specific questions are:
1. Since the paint job is for one side of the car to take care of the scratch, how different would it look compared to the original paint on the rest of the car? Do the dealers do a good paint job or would it look too diffferent? Also, with time will the different paints weather/age/fade differently?
2 Will this paint job affect its resale value later on?

I would really appreciate your inputs on these questions as soon as you can as he would need to make a decision soon on the car.

Many Thanks!

If the paint job is done well, resale value should not be affected.

The whole idea of repainting te whole side of a car to have the paint look the same. Now it may look slightly different then the hood, or roof, or the otehr side of the car. However you are likely not to really notice the difference, if there is one, since those other surfaces are not seen in the same viewing angle as the side that was repainted.

As for whether or not the dealership can do a nice job, maybe see of they have any cars on the lot that they may have just repainted, to get a look at their work first hand. Bottom line is if the peint job is done well, these should be non-issues.
