Acura's Concept TL Cleans Windshield Without Wipers

Acura's Concept TL cleans windshield without wipers

By Gail Kachadourian
Automotive News / April 16, 2003

The Acura Concept TL's windshield is cleaned without wipers.

Instead, it uses jet nozzles that shoot air onto the windshield to keep it free of rain or snow.

The Concept TL, which features a long hood and a short rear overhang, was unveiled on Wednesday at the New York International Auto Show. The concept shows the styling direction for the 2004 TL, which debuts this fall.

It is shorter than the current production TL and has pronounced fender flares, 19-inch alloy wheels and high-performance tires. The grille has a brushed aluminum Acura logo, and the rear has a V-shaped break below the trunk and dual exhaust pipes.

The front end has large air intakes and an angular headlight assembly with high intensity discharge headlights.

The concept also features flush-mounted windshield glass, which Acura says improves the vehicle's aerodynamics.

Acura said bluetooth wireless telephone connectivity and XM Satellite Radio will be offered on the 2004 TL.

Guess you won't be able to remove a fresh bug strike with the wipers anymore!

41,000 miles in a month!?!? What the f*ck?

Either way, it sounds like you're stating problems with your 2003 TL. We're talking about the new upcoming '04 model. It's anyone's guess as to how good it's going to be, though.
