Brembo vs. Disc Italia

Looking at upgrading rotors and pads. Can't decide between brembo drilled and slotted vs. disc italia. A salesperson told me that brembo uses cast iron to make their rotors, and disc italia uses a high carbon steel. What does that mean? I am looking at getting the axxis ulimate pads to go along, unless someone else has a better combo...

I have brembo slotted with hawk hp pads up front and a stock setup in the rear. It seems to do the trick of eliminating brake fade, while still retaining reliability. Just my two cents. Had this setup for about 5k miles and still feel good everytime I do moderate to heavy braking no matter what speed.
