changing oxygen sensor 1999 TL?

Sorry I posted this to the 2nd gen. TL forum too -- newbie & wasn't sure where to post...

Can anyone point me to a good reference on how to change my oxygen sensor in my 1999 TL? Check engine light on constant and code for the oxygen sensor is what comes up. Car runs fine, but I have 135K miles and figure it might help mileage and performance. Any insights are much appreciated!

There are two o2 sensors, you should be able to test which is faulty. It may be wise to go ahead and replace them both as at 130k+ miles there is a good chance even if not completely unable to function, it's attributing to poorer gas mileage. One sensor is located before the cat, one after. I don't think you will need a detailed write up, safely make some room under the car then just locate them on the exhaust system. Be careful with the wires and considering they are original units odds are they are going to be difficult to remove. You will probably want to either hit them with PB blaster and or use a hair blow drier to warm them up prior to removal. You could of course just get the car warm but you risk being burned and I wouldn't suggest that.
TL o2 sensor location will provide you with specific locations and BOSCH part numbers.
