Killing the DRL's on 08 TL-S
Just picked her up last week and i already have 500 miles on it. So far i'm loving it!
Asked my salesman the day before i picked it up to turn off the DRL's and he said "we can't do it by law". That sounds like a bunch of BS to me, but he wouldn't budge. Anyone know how? I figured it i just pulled them out it would set off the DRL light on the dash. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! Chuck |

I really can't understand why you want to do that. I would think that this is a safety feature that you would want to keep...
No, I don't know how to do it. Be sure that you don't void some or all of your warranty by doing it. Take it to a custom shop, and see what they can do for you if you are set on turning them off.

In the RSX the DRL was a "Canada Only" function and I've heard it could be disabled by removing the DRL relay. Don't know if that's the case with the TL - but it might be worth exploring if you can find the Wiring Diagram for your car.
As to Warranty and Legality - YMMV!

When you figure that out, tell us how to remove airbags, and seatbelts. It's a saftey device that actually is accounted for in your insurance premium. I see a lot of Honda (Odyssey especailly) and Acura owners without lights on at dusk because the LED panels fool them. At least the newer Acuras have DRL and auto lights. To disable them, remove your high beam bulbs. DRLs are those bulbs, they are halogen at low wattage. Research has shown that cars with DRLs are involved in fewer accidents, that's why they are standard on GM cars for years.
