New Headlight lenses '97 1.6 EL

Hello,

I just bought a 1997 1.6 EL and would like to clean it up a wee bit. Does anybody know where one could acquire new headlight lenses? If possible anyhow.

Thanks.

correction

Ok, after a bit of reading I've discovered that what I actually want to do is to clean the headlight lens covers! Can anybody recommend a good cleaner?

Thanks.

get some plastic (i assume your headlights are plastic) polisher. i heard 3m has a good one but i've never personally used it. i've used other brands and it works for a while and it turns yellow again after a month.

if you want to do a complete and more permanent job, try wet sanding it. go from a coarse grid to a very fine grid. that should do the trick

Headlight Cleaner/Restorer

If the headlights are only mildly oxidized due to longterm exposure to the sun's UV rays, then the McGuire's Plastix stuff will be fine. However, if it's more severe, as I expect it is, the best product to use is Crystal View, which you can get at places such as Advance Auto Parts for about 20 bucks. I used it on my car after trying to do the job with the Plastistix stuff, and it worked wonders! My headlights literally look brand new, and it only took about a half-hour. To see how the stuff works and how to use it, check out http://www.bestheadlightcleaner.com/ best of luck!!!
