Replace Passenger Side Mirror

Someone pulled off the passenger side mirror on a 1997 Integra (glass and internal frame only). What do I need to buy - and how do I install it.

Thanks,

Bob

Same thing happened to me on my MDX. Someone pulled out both side mirrors. A part of the internal frame got pulled out with mirror.

I took it to place where they just sold me and installed mirrors obviously stolen from some other car. I live in Mexico btw.

I watched the guy do it. He used a grinding machine to make the missing part of the internal frame fit to mine. Then he just glued them together. The mirror snapped on just by pressing it.

Not sure if you can do the same. I would say just go to a junkyard and buy the internal frame with the mirror and see from there.

My passenger side mirror on 2000 Integra LS hatch looks exactly like that right now as well. Close encounter with wild turkey (bird, not booze) on I-86 in NY several days ago. Lucky it didn't do anything worse, I guess, but I couldn't get back to the spot to try to get the part.

When I look at the diagram on oemacuraparts.com it seems there are not other separate small parts that are sold, so I'm hoping I can just order the part called "glass" for 20-odd bucks and snap it on? Obviously for that to be correct it would have to be a little more than just bare glass....

EDIT: Found better diagram zoomed out, seems to indicate part called "mirror" or "glass" has the proper attachment part(s) with it. Will try ordering that, easier than digging around for junkyard parts.

OEM part just called "mirror" or "glass" is what goes on there if your mirror is like top picture, can confirm that. There's a plastic frame on the back with all the necessary attachments; it's all considered one part even though calling it just "glass" sounds like it wouldn't be everything. I ended up ordering through my local dealer as they could get it in one day, and did! Costly, $38 with tax, although similar cost to having shipping that fast. I guess I didn't NEED it that fast, but it's been bugging me. If you can get junkyard to sell you only this piece, that would be better, but they might want you to take entire mirror assembly. Of course, it might still cost less.

Only thing is, I can't quite get it on there right. I'm sure it will stay attached onto that large center piece, but I can't get the smaller pieces where the motors adjust to stay attached. So it'll sorta adjust in one direction, then won't go back the other direction, etc. Not sure if I just have to use what seems like a ridiculous amount of force to press it in or what. I know I read about this somewhere but don't remember where and don't remember if they figured it out either....

EDIT: After looking around for 10 minutes not finding anything, just went back down and applied more force to those points, and that worked. The bottom one (which controls the up/down movement) is the hardest, or at least was on this car. So, when you're installing this thing, the center attachment will snap in first, with the least force. The left/right adjuster peg (to the right of the center piece) takes somewhat more force. And the up/down adjuster takes a little more than that, most likely. Just listen for the snap.
