replacing radiators

I personally as i dont get time to drain systems down, goto the F&E tank in the loft, block up the vent and feed to the system.
Make sure any automatic air vent caps are tightened to stop air getting into system.
Go to the drain off and drain the pressure out, should not take long, then shut it off
Next i go to the radiator, shut off the return valve.
Right your ready to tackle the valve. First loosen the valve to the radiator nut, you will need some old towels to soak up any water that will come out. If your lucky and replacing like for like you wont need to drain the radiator. If your unsure then drain the radiator.
Next change the valve, so long as you dont open an air vent the water in the system wont come out.
Once you change the valve, unblock the vent and feed in the tank, and go and check for any leaks.
Open any auto air vents, bleed air out of affected radiator run the heating and bleed the other radiators
