04 TL aftermarket parts
wuts up all. hope some of you can give me advice. ive been all over the net trying to find websites that carry aftermarket TL parts. ive entered everything and anything i could think of in google and all i get is some retarted website that says it has TL parts but shows a picture of a VW Bug. certain parts im interested in (if they even exist yet)
-black headlight housing (carbon fiber maybe??) -HEADERS!!! y cant i find a simple part like headers!?!?! -body kits?? are there any other kits out there besides Ron Jon?? or the A-Spec kit -supercharger/turbocharger??? i know a supercharger exist, but im more interested in a turbocharger. theres a couple more but i cant think of them right now. if anyone has couple legit sites for 04 TL parts i would greatly appreciate it. thanks. ![]() |

There are no headers availible for the 04-06 model TL's from what I can recall since the manifold is part of the cylinder head. Comptech makes a supercharger..... as far as turbo you would have to have one fabricated and your back to the problem of the manifold being part of the head since a turbo setup would need a custom header/manifold. You run into the next issue of tuning.... as far as I know there is no aftermarket tuning software for these cars. A CAI and catback system are gonna be the only easy mods without getting into any major fabrication. Enjoy the car the way it is or buy something that was meant to go fast, getting the TL to fly is gonna cost some very serious $$$$
Not sure on the headlight housings or the body kits, Im not a fan of body kits (A-Spec isnt bad) but any of the crazy ones look like they belong on a civic with a fart can and 300 gauges in it all while clicking off very UN impressive 1/4 miles times north of 16.0

funny you should say that. ive been told that by a couple other people. to be honest im not tryin to do anything CRAZY to it. the TL has got some balls to it. i just want some bigger ones so i can continue to put them POS mustangs in the dirt. i agree with the body kits. a-spec is not bad. ron jon = to complicated for me. jus tryin to look for something simple. anyways thanks alot for the info. ![]() |

You can get the "custom J-Pipe" to add about 15HP to the stock TL for $400. A Fujita Cold Air Intake (CAI) for $150 will add another 8-10HP. A custom exhaust will run you another grand and only adds about 12HP. The reason there are no TURBOS available for this car is because the way Acura designed the ECU (closed loop architecture) makes it VERY difficult to tune it with after-market products like eManage. You can adjust the air-2-fuel mixture and that is about it. The CompTech Super Charger (SC) goes for around $3,500 used and there are two or three of those available from guys who have sold their cars. They will add about 60HP. Hondata has a custom ECU for those with the SC but you have to live in Cali to have it done as they will ONLY do it for local cars they can get their hands directly on (makes sense).
By the way - Your not going to put many "tuned" mustangs down ever with a SC'd TL. Bext HP "to the wheels" is around 320 whereas a tuned 'Stang" can easily put 400HP down without cracking the $4K you have to put into the TL. If you REALLY want to race Stangs, go buy a used CLK55. My old one had a (conservative) rating of 350HP stock and would beat all but the stage 3 and rousch cars.
