I have added one to my 07 TL Type S, I disconnected the factory sub, used that output to a line out converter for signal. One thing you will need to do is disable the active noise cancelation. This is done by pulling the wire from the rear microphone. This is accessed by taking the rear cabin light apart (located on headliner over the back seat). The all sounds way more involved than it really is so dont let it scare you. Im running a 10" Kicker comp sub powered by a Kicker 200.2 amp...... it really sounds a ton better than stock and what it nice by using the factory sub lead you can control the subwoofer output through the head unit.

You can try it but I can assure you the sound will be better with it disconnected not to mention a better input signal.
