are all tl's built in the same plant and then just shipped.... or does the US and canada each have thier wn plant.

And is XM avaiable in Canada.

The TLs are all built at the samr Ohio plant alongside the Accords.

No we do not have XM radio yet. I suspect this may be a CRTC thing, or Acuras being cheap. For some reason there are subtle differences in our cars to the US vehicles. For example we do not get the selection they do, like the Navii with manual is not availiable here, as are some colour combos not availiable here. But we get the all important low warning light for the windshield washer fluid and they don't. Go figure.

I guess with our more severe winters, we use a lot more washer fluid, hence the warning light. Some vehicles made for Canada even have a larger washer fluid reservoir.

And up until recently, most Hondas and Acuras sold in the U.S. didn't have exterior mirror heaters and/or heated front seats, while the mirror heaters are pretty much standard on all Hondas (including the Civic) and Acuras in Canada, and seat heaters standard on all vehicles with leather interiors. Also, Canadian vehicles must be equipped with daytime running lights, and bumpers must adhere to stricter crash resistance than in the U.S.

yah but with all these restrictions, wouldnt it be more profitable to just make all their cars like that...... instead of 2 different.... i meqn we do have some pretty stuoid laws up here in canada.

I happen to think safer bumpers and Daytime running lights are good safety features and are not stupid. What features do you think are stupis that are required by our laws.

I can't imagine the bumpers being made "less safe" on the U.S. cars. Although I do remember that the Volvo S40 and V70 were delayed in being introduced in Canada because the bumpers did not meet the minimum safety requirements by Transport Canada.

The cars are different enough because of the speedometer and odometer being in km/h than miles/hour, not to mention the navi. But I can't explain the different sized washer fluid reservoir...maybe because a full Canadian-sized reservoir in the average U.S. vehicle (northern states excluded) will last 4 years...who knows if washer fluid can keep that long.

I know that as of a couple of years ago, it was law that all new cars sold in Canada had to have a trunk release handle from inside the trunk. Don't know if that is required in the U.S.

I guess ur right... i cant really think of any stupid laws right now. What about HID's.... i heard their illegal in some states now... is there anything like that in Canada.

No laws in Canada regarding HID lights in Canada to my knowledge, nor do I think there are any in the USA.

The law in the U.S. is that HID conversion kits are illegal. You cannot repalce your standard halogen headlamps with HID's. If your car came with HID's from the factory, HID replacements are legal.

I have no idea if it's the same case with Canada.

Any Canadians know what phones will work with the hand free link in our cars. I went to Rogers today and they have 2-3 different phones with bluetooth. I was a little hesitant to buy cuz i wanna make sure i get use of all the features poperly and to the fullest.
