Display or artist & song title when listening to FM radio

I have an '05 TL with the Navigation System. While listening to XM, it displays the artist & song title on the Nav screen after you press the Audio button.

I also have a new Ford Expedition, and on the Expedition's FM radio, it displays the artist & song name. I'm specifically talking about FM radio, not Sat. I believe the artist & song is displayed via datacasting on the FM signal.

Does my '05 TL have the ability to display the artist & song title when listening to FM radio, like my Expedition?

Your Expediiton must have the RDS (Radio Data System) as a feature. RDS radios can display text (like station call letters and song titles) on the display. Your TL does not have this.

Yes, it does. I'm disappointed that the TL does not have this.

It sucks that it does neither RDS or CD Text. Sometimes I wonder how they decided on DVDA but left out text support or mp3s.

My GF's rental Chevy Colbolt has it and I think all Pontiacs have it also.

well all GMs pretty much use the same stereo, so that makes sense. I'm pretty disappointed with RDS and CD text though, just about nobody uses it (in fact the ONLY cd I've ever had use CD text was burnt by me). Would be nice if all vehicle makers would support it..I wonder if GM owns a piece of it like XM..

While were on this topic... Does anyone know if there is some way to get the NON NAVI screen to scroll or do something so that it shows teh complete name and artist on XM radio... It is kind of annoying when its a long artist name, and it cuts off like his or her whole last name. Any ideas?

I can't belive anyone listens to FM when you have XM. Must have better stations in your neck of the woods. Ya it would be nice to have all the text info and mp3 stuff. I would like to meet the team of people at Honda that make these determinations. I need their job.
